The New Heidi Now Open

Following Heide Museum of Modern Art’s 2005-2006 Redevelopment Program, Heide reopened to the public in its entirety last month. The new Heide III is a bold building that is distinguished from the existing Heide II building. New paths and landscaping provide easy access to Heide I, the original 19th Century farmhouse. Heide II has undergone a restoration program that reinforces the original vision of ‘a gallery to be lived in’.

Opening Exhibitions

Meeting a Dream: Albert Tucker in Paris 1948 – 1952
- until 5 November 2006

Heide III: Albert & Barbara Tucker Gallery

This exhibition is the inaugural exhibition of Heide’s new Albert & Barbara Tucker Gallery. It includes many of the paintings Tucker exhibited in his solo show at Galerie Huit, Paris in 1952, and features works on paper and photo-graphs not previously shown in Australia.

Imagine… The Creativity Shaping Our Culture - until 29 October 2006

This exhibition offers a look at a range of contemporary art practices in Australia today and the possibilities for our visual culture. The ten featured artists include Chris Barry, Vera Mφller, Arlo Mountford, Garry Namponan, Lizzy Newman, Michelle Nikou, David Palliser, Stelarc, Lucia Usmiani and Ron Yunkaporta. The works will be exhibited throughout Heide III’s Central Galleries and Sculpture Park.

Living In Landscape: Heide and Houses by Mcglashan and Everist -
