| Log On @ Green Lounge BRINGING A touch of green to
leafy Camberwell is slinkonline, the recently opened coffee and
internet lounge. Combining an environmentally friendly outlook with
a warm, welcoming atmosphere, slinkonline is a planet-conscious
alternative to the average internet cafe. The lounge offers an
ambient setting, with a cosy, timber interior, heated, covered side
deck, a rear courtyard, and tables and seating at the front of
the lounge.
Ambient
You can see that slinkonline is as environmentally friendly as
possible. All printing paper used at the lounge is 100 per cent
recycled, the funky furniture is secondhand and some is also for
sale, and the coffee bears the Rainforest Alliance certification.
They call it “good karma coffee.” With the utmost consideration for
their customers, slinkonline has ensured that all snacks are vegan,
vegetarian or gluten-free, but visitors can also bring their own
food. |
Recycled
The internet facilities include a wireless hotspot, printing and
faxing. You can also bring used printing cartridges to slinkonline
to be recycled through the Planet Ark campaign to reduce landfill
waste. Recycled printing paper, as well as mobile phone recharge
cards, Citylink passes and account top-ups, same day delivery
flowers, and tickets for Melbourne Museum, the Victorian Arts
Centre, MCG tours and much more can also be purchased. The lounge
offers an “Ecycling” depot service, where customers can bring in
their old computers and parts, as well as mobile phones, and receive
a free Good Karma Coffee. The lounge is open seven days a week, from
10am until late. |
