You are probably familiar with BMC Upholstery. It is somewhat of a landmark in East Bentleigh. The large showroom and workshop has been located on the corner of Centre and East Boundary Roads for about seven years and prior to that was just down the road. Master Upholsterer The owner and master upholsterer, Michael Berkovitch, gained 20 years of experience in Europe, before coming to Australia in 1986. For the last 20 years he has been engaged in the development of commercial furniture with Moran of Melbourne and the servicing, recovering and repairing of furniture for the public. |
Handled With Care Michael provides high quality service and craftsmanship and a wealth of experience gained form 40 years in the trade. He treats every job with equal care and uses a huge range of fabrics including well-known brands like Warwick and Kibby. Services range from repairs to replacing the inserts; re-enforcing the frames to a complete recovery and custom building sofas, dining tables and chairs. Quality Furniture Lasts a Lifetime A lot of cheap furniture is flooding in from the Asian market that is below par with the standard of traditional Australian furniture like Moran, Parker and other well-established companies. |

For comfort, style and durability it is well worth repairing a good piece of furniture than replacing it with a cheap import. The large showroom is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm and has free all day parking at the rear. |
