This is not what happens when Anita Traynor, of AT Designed Interiors, goes to work.

Anita aims to get to know the client, their tastes, and importantly, their budget. She is happy to work sympathetically with existing furnishings and coverings and is non-judgemental about other people’s sense of aesthetics.

As an apartment-dweller in St. Kilda with three young children, she also knows better than most about the practical requirements of maintenance and durability.

Apart from holding a Diploma of Interior Design, Anita majored in Fine Art at Melbourne University and has worked for Christies, the art auction house, so she is qualified to advise on the purchase of paintings and sculpture for investment as well as for décor.

She can project-manage an entire fit-out for a new or renovated premises, sourcing furniture, carpet, window coverings, tiles and decorative pieces as required.

Anita uses only quality tradespeople who are reliable to carry out necessary works, and will recommend colour schemes, arrange customised furniture and find the perfect accessories for a complete look.

Anita has recently completed a makeover of the senior staff common room at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
